Unique Tricks
Tricks that I will introduce in this category are so unique that I could not put them in other three categories.
Flipper
flipper This is one trick that I do not know the English name for. It is so weird; in this trick, your feet never leave the ground. Despite the fact that there is no jumping involevd, it would still look like the rope is going around your body. I let you know now that explaining this trick in words is very difficult.
  1. Swing the rope to your left side using both hands.
  2. Put left hand behind your back towards right while putting right hand in front of you towards left.
    • At this point, the rope should be behind you.

flipper
  1. Turn both wrists, so the rope goes over your head, but at the same time start moving your right hand to your right.
  2. After turning wrists, open up your arms.
    • The rope should travel your right side.
    • When your arms are fully open, the rope should be behind you.
  3. Repeat steps 2 to 4 except with opposite hands and directions.
    • you should switch your hand movements every time you finish the whole cycle.

One-Eighty
one-eighty One-eighty is often used in the free style rope competition as a way to switch from a forward rope rotation to a backward rotation or the other way around, without having to stop jumping in the midst of performance. Just for your information, switching from forwards to backwards is significantly more difficult than switching from backwards to forwards.
  1. Start with a backwards single under.
  2. When the rope comes up in front of you after it passes under your feet, jump and turn 180 degree.
  3. While rotating yourself 180 degree, start turning the rope in the forward rotation, so the rope passes under your feet before you land.
  4. When you land, you should have rotated 180 degree from your original position
    • The rope direction should be reversed as well.

Hand Switch
hand switch This trick does look very pretty, because of the slow rope rotation. However it is one the most unique skip-rope tricks.
  1. Start with a single under.
  2. When the rope is at the highest point, start getting your hands close together.
    • Do not stop turning the rope.
  3. Exchange grips between hands before the rope reaches the bottom.
  4. Make the rope pass under your feet.
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4.
Side flicks
side flicks In side flick you simply turn the rope in the empty space beside you. Doing side flick by itself is so easy that it should not even be considered as a trick. Side flick is used to replace one or a few of rope rotations in multiple under. However multiple unders with side flick mixed in are considered easier than simple multiple unders. I am personally not good at multiple unders with side flicks than normal multiple unders.
