Photoshop
Sometimes it’s hard to make an image look good with camera settings alone. Maybe the lighting wasn’t quite right, or the whole thing looks too undersaturated. Maybe there was something in the background that you wanted to crop out. That’s what photoshop is for. Some people use it simply to retouch photos they’ve taken, while others use it to create something completely new out of pre-existing images. Whatever the case, here are some good photoshop programs to help with that.
GIMP: A free, open source, downloadable photo editor. GIMP is quite powerful, and allows users to easily retouch and manipulate photos with a variety of tools. The only downside is that it might not work as well on older, slower computers, but it’s still a great program and definitely worth the download.
Pixlr: A free, online photo editor, although it’s also available for download if a subscription is purchased. It’s also powerful, and allows the user to save a file with different layers, making it easy to either retouch a photo, or reimagine one.
Snapseed: Available for mobile devices, Snapseed is a easy to use photo editor . It’s simple, and allows for precise application of filters, blur effects, spot repair, and other basic photo edits.
There are a lot of other great photo editors out there, but these are the ones that I have experience using. Feel free to explore and look for other ones if you don’t find one on this list that suits your needs.
