The biggest problem about global warming is definitely climate change. This affects everything we live in, and everything we do. Climate change is when the weather (and the climate) changes, disrupting everything in the world. With climate change the overall weather of the world changes permanently so for example if the average weather in the world was 15 degrees, it is now 16. That may not seem like a bad thing: the oceans are warmer, it’s always warmer and now you can swim in the oceans all the time!

However, this is awful for pretty much everything else. The arctic starts melting, and everyone there is dead, and many other consequences take effect. Animals and plants have lived on this planet for millions of years, and during that time that climate hasn’t changed much. They are not adapted to changing climates, and even the slightest change will kill off many different species. This is very bad for all sorts of living beings, for a variety of different reasons.
Antarctica is definitely one of the biggest victims, because it’s all ice, and ice depends on cold weather. Since the weather is getting warmer, ice sheets are falling apart and melting, which is very bad for the world. The animals who live there can’t do anything so eventually they will just die.
It may not seem like it, but even the smallest change in weather can have an enormous impact on the entire planet. Right now, the earth has gone up by one degree, which is pretty bad. Many major companies have said that if it goes up by two, they will have to take extreme measures and change the way humans do things. To put it in contrast, scientists have said that if the temperature goes up by 5 degrees Celsius, life on earth will be unsustainable.
What global warming really is, is a collection of effects which when combined, bring serious damage to the planet. Climate change warms up the earth, and pollution destroys the ecosystems, killing animals and destroying the planet.
