The original Halvorsen Chocolates came to be in 1965, in the Norwegian city Oslo, when young Abegail Halvorsen opened up a small cherry chocolate stand outside her house. Her neighbourhood absolutely adored the enthusiastic child and her love for making these simple, yet mouth watering treats, and her little sweets stand quickly grew in popularity.

In fact, when she came to Canada in 1985, she already had a small, high quality business running. Her chocolate shop became extremely successful after she set up her very first Canadian store in Winnipeg!

Now, our company has expanded into three different branches of delightful sweet treats, and there are over 100 Halvorsen stores located in North America. Our Halvorsen Chocolates are world renowned for our signature truffle designs, outstanding flavours and the incredible care we put into every piece of chocolate.

Our signature dark chocolate blend is one of a kind. Our chocolate is very special because all of the cacao beans used for this spectacularly rich and flavourful blend are from Venezuela, a place that upholds a fantastic reputation for their top quality cacao beans.

The only cacao beans that we use in our recipes are the Criollo cacao beans, the most sought after type of cacao beans in the world! This makes our dark chocolate blend exceptional, and we guarantee that you will agree as well!
