Two point perspective is a bit more complicated than one point. However, if you are familiar with one point you should have no problem with two point. Here I'm going to assume you know how to do one point already and go at a faster pace the the previous lesson. If you don't know one point...Here's the link for one point perspective. 1, First you will need a horizon line, this line will be at eye level. So if you are looking down, then the horizon line will be high, and if your are looking up, the horizon line will be low. ![]() 2, Then you will need vanishing points(vp), unlike one point perspective here, you will need two VPs. Your picture will look better if the VPs are as far away from each other as possible. The standard distance between two VPs is 72 cm. ![]() 3, So we instead of drawing a cube this time...we'll draw a house!! With a garage and everything!!(You'll need to do that by your self though;D) First you will need a base for the house, drawing two lines from each Vp so they intersect and make a rectangle. ![]() 4, Draw a perpendicular line from the very front of your house up to a distance you would like your house to be. Then draw lines from the top of your line to each VP. ![]() 5, Draw perpendicular lines from the rectangle up to touch the two new lines you've just drawn. You've got your basic prism. ![]() 6, Now, this is a bit complicated. Draw a supporting line from the middle of the front edge of your prism to VP 2. Then draw another supporting line from the bottom of the front edge to the top of the back edge. ![]() 7, And where the two supporting lines meet, draw a perpendicular line from there. This line is exactly in the middle of the front edge and the back edge ![]() 8, If you are wondering what we are doing, we are making the triangle roof of the house. From the top of the two edges of the rectangle, draw lines connecting the top edge points to the perpendicular that you just made. ![]() 9, Now you have the triangle, connect it's top point to the other VP(VP #1). ![]() 10, From the top edge point of the rectangle that you haven't touched, draw a line parallel to nearist side of the triangle. ![]() 11, Erase any line you don't really need anymore, can you see the house?? ![]() Basically doing the same thing as what I did with you, you can add windows, garage, EVERYTHING!!! Add a bit of colours or shading if you are doing it in pencil, it will improve your drawing significantly. |
