On June 27 2014, the latest movie of transformers science fiction film series "Age of Extinction" was released. The Movie is still directed by Michael Bay, but it started a completely different story line, chose a brand new lead role and a entirely new cast. This 4th installment of Transformers franchise received mostly negative reviews , but however the movie hits the U.S. and China market with a huge success. Just in 38 day, the movie made more than a billion dollars worldwide.
Five years after the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons in Chicago (Transformers III Dark of the Moon), the CIA thinks that all Autobots are threats to humanity. Agent Harold Attinger established a unit to help another alien robot “Lockdown” to hunt down all the Autobots to trade a extremely dangerous“Seed” for money. Meanwhile, Cade Yeager, a poor inventor bought an old truck and expected to make money from it, but it turns out to be the injured Optimus Prime, he repair him but exposed Optimus’ location. Now, the CIA and Lockdown are both after Cade’s family and the Autobots, the only way to survive is to stick together. Information lead them to a company called KSI, at there they figured out the situation and discovered human is in great danger. The team followed the company to Hong Kong, under both CIA and Lockdown’s hunting, they successfully eliminated the threat and earned human’s trust again.
The second Transformers was not a very good second movies in this series, many people were disappointed, it’s like any second movies,
a lot of new characters were introduced, people were less focused on the importance of story-telling. But in the third movie none of
this happened, everything was done perfectly. I really worried about this one, how could the fourth movies be made better? The truth
is, it didn’t.
This is a Michael Bay film, you know. His film is just no more than fireworks. I have nothing to say about his visual effects and
sound effects, no doubt it’s the best in the world, every single frame is good enough to be a poster. But after I watched the movie
the first time, I didn’t even figure out what exactly happened, than I watched it second time, third time...... After the fourth time,
I can really say that I understood why is every line of dialog is being put there. The movie is so long and it has way so many
characters and plot for one movie. This movie’s problem is it lost the main idea of film making, telling story. But this is not a
bad movie, it isn’t a good one either, depends on what do you think is more important for a movie.
