The 2014 Godzilla is the latest movie based on this legendary monster "Godzilla" which first appeared in 1954 film "Godzilla (1954)". The movie was released on May 8 2014, earning 200 million dollars on its opening weekend, finishing with 525 million dollar worldwide. In the history of movies, there are no less than 30 Godzilla films has been made around the world , this monster is becoming a cultural icon. But this movie is very unique, it let Godzilla be positive character, she risking her own life helped human and saved the world, no one has ever done this before. In a word, it made this character special enough to compete with other sci-fi franchise.
In 1999, the Janjira nuclear plant was mysteriously destroyed with most hands lost including supervisor Joe Brody's colleague and wife, Sandra. Years later, Joe's son, Ford, a US Navy ordnance disposal officer, must go to Japan to help his estranged father who obsessively searches for the truth of the incident. In doing so, father and son discover the disaster's secret cause on the wreck's very grounds. This enables them to witness the reawakening of a terrible threat to all of Humanity, which is made all the worse with a second secret revival elsewhere. Against this cataclysm, the only hope for the world may be Godzilla, but the challenge for the King of the Monsters will be great even as Humanity struggles to understand the destructive ally they have. In the end, Godzilla killed the monsters in San Francisco and Ford found his wife and son again.
I watched a lot of Godzilla movie before, and this one is really different, and it’s good. The trailer gave this movie a lot of advantages, a great trailer can make a big differences. The visual effects are astonishing, the whole movies did a very nice job building the tension. It learned from the previous Godzilla movies, dont show the entire Godzilla until the second half of the film. There are around ten beautiful shots in this movie I can never forget, like the shot in the airport, one explosion leads all the planes blow up one by one; or fighter planes crush into ocean, and the pilot lunched the parachute in the last second; maybe the monster Muto waving her wings, created tons of wind and blow away the smoke. This movies fits all the criteria to be the best movie of 2014.
